User guide

Welcome to Swedish Match Image Bank! This guide includes all you need to know about how to use the Image Bank.

Find images
Quick search in the right column includes links to our most popular categories of images. Just click on one link and the category chosen will open up.

Search in the right column is a simplified search. Enter your search phrase in the text field and it will search for that phrase in keywords, descriptions, titles and categories. Choose Media Type if you only want to search within images or videos.

You will find Advanced search under the simplified search.. The Advanced search has 7 options: Title of the image, Keywords, Description, Photographer, Year, Media type and Categories. Combined, these may narrow or broaden a search until the user finds what he or she is looking for.

All fields and options are optional. When you choose a category by clicking on it all the possible subcategories will be displayed. If a category is chosen, the search will display all images in the subcategories as well. Click “All” to search in all categories.

View images
When you have searched for images, either by clicking a category or by searching, a search result is shown. There you can choose to view the detailed view or the thumb view by the buttons on the top right of the search result. The detailed view contains more information about the images, e.g. keywords, photographer, and dimension. The thumb view only shows the title and the image thumbnail, with the advantage that it gives a faster overview of the search result.

Clicking on an image opens a preview of that image along with the information about it.

Download images
There are two ways to download images in the Image Bank – download one direct from the search results, or add images to a download folder to get them in a zip-file.

In the search result, there is an option to download an online version or a print version of the image. The online version is a smaller image, often enough to use on the web. The print version is the larger, original file.

You can find the images in your download folder by clicking on the folder icon on the top of the page. In the download folder you can remove images, choose version to download (print or online) and download all by clicking “Download images”. That creates a zip file with all the images. The option “Compare images” opens small versions of the images that can be moved around, to compare them easily.

Browsing

Registration
Visitor registration is not necessary to access and print images in the Image Bank. To utilize My light boxes and other customized features, visitor registration is necessary. To register, visitors must provide a first name, last name, and e-mail address. Swedish Match uses registration information to send visitor requested information only. Swedish Match does not send any unsolicited information.

Consent
You hereby consent to Swedish Match’s use of any material, information, or personal data you submit to this website for the purpose of evaluating and distributing visitor information to relevant Swedish Match subsidiaries and partners. This consent includes the right of Swedish Match to transfer the data to any country or countries that are not European Union members, and to post information on the Internet.
